Whitney Jones
CONTEMPORARY JAZZ,
R&B, AND SOUL VOCALIST
Phoenix, AZ
Whitney Jones is a luminous force in Jazz & Contemporary R&B/Soul, weaving intricate tapestries of sound through her roles as a vocalist, songwriter, producer, and performer.
Her music is a soulful voyage, a rich blend of passion and craftsmanship that
stirs the spirit and beckons the body to move.
A true artist with a versatile palette, Whitney explores the vast landscapes of Jazz, R&B, Funk, Blues, Rock, Classical, and Pop. Her journey began at the hallowed halls of Berklee College of Music and soon led her to become the first female bandleader to have a weekly residency and grace the historic stage of Wally's Jazz Cafe in Boston after completing her degree. With a voice that has echoed alongside the legendary CeCe Peniston and a co-writing credit on the Billboard #2 hit “Purple Funk,” Whitney's artistry is both acclaimed and profound. Whitney has shared the stage with a number of top-notch artists and musicians, such as Smooth Jazz artists, Elan Trotman, Cal Harris, Jr., and J. White, as well as Rodney Poe of R&B group Blackstreet and R.L. of the R&B group, Next. Whitney opened for R&B crooner, Carl Thomas (formerly of Bad Boy Records) and has contributed her vocal talents to TV One’s Unsung feature on R&B luminary Adina Howard.
Yet, for Whitney, success is not merely a series of milestones but a conduit for deeper connections and transformative experiences. She views her music as a beacon of hope and empowerment, a vessel through which she aims to uplift and inspire. "I want to give back," Whitney says. "My purpose is to uplift, inspire, and empower people through music and entertainment, to kick fear out of their face and walk in love." Her songs are more than melodies; they are anthems for those navigating the complexities of life,
offering solace and strength.
Following the success of her debut EP, Higher, Jones' first full-length album, Based On Reality, is a deeply personal odyssey born from the trials of the 2020 Pandemic era. Crafted in the crucible of introspection and resilience, this album explores themes of love, healing, and self-discovery. Each track is a chapter in a narrative that traverses from matters of the heart to joy, from gratitude to self-affirmation. “Under The Moonlight” is the first single released off of the album. This tune has been increasingly popular among listeners, even landing a #1 position on the largest platform for independent artists, Urban Influencer Smooth Jazz Charts. All in all, Based On Reality is not just an album; it’s a soulful embrace that invites listeners to rediscover the beauty of music, life, and self.
With its blend of timeless R&B/Soul and hints of Jazz, Whitney's music transcends the ordinary, resonating deeply with anyone who seeks to find the extraordinary within the everyday. Her music promises to be a soundtrack for life's most poignant moments, a testament to Whitney Jones' unique and expressive artistry.
